Hazards on. Hands visible. Folder. Answer the question that was asked. Do not volunteer a story. You have a right to be professional and quiet.
Must-have
- Stop completely and safely. Four-ways.
- License, med card, registration, insurance, inspection, logs.
- ELD transfer if they ask — know the two methods (USB/Bluetooth or email/web).
- Walk-around if they want the Level 1. Do not argue straps on the shoulder. Fix or take the copy.

What they don’t publish
- Talking your way out is how extra questions appear. Short answers.
- If they write you, sign where you acknowledge receipt — that is not a confession.
- Send the inspection to dispatch before you roll again. CSA is a company problem, not a ‘personal ticket.’
